Stone lab research was highlighted in Endocrine News. “We found that the proband carried mutations in the FGF21 receptor complex and performed tissue culture-based studies to demonstrate that these were functional/pathogenic mutations,” Stephen Stone, MD tells Endocrine News. “This study demonstrates the first ever link between FGF21 and severe insulin resistance.”
Five physician-scientists named inaugural Dean’s Scholars (Links to an external site)
Stephen Stone, MD was one of five Washington University physician-scientists named to the inaugural year of of the Dean’s Scholars program. The Dean’s Scholars program is designed for MD-only physician scientists. This award provides them with mentorship, institutional support, and the protected time necessary to generate data and publications.
